B7800. 50 hour transmission oil change. 1) Do I really need to change 5 gallons of fluid? 2) There are two Transmission filters, they are different. One (R) is large, the other, (L) looks like the oil filter. It is opposite the other filter. Not the engine oil filter. Also, the screen, does this need cleaning? What solvent?
Thanks,
Fred

The manual does not mention different types of Hydrostatic filters. Why two different ones? Thanks for you reply.

Ah, the screen/strainer. Yes, spend a couple of minuites and take it out to clean it. I used carb cleaner and the air hose to clean mine. If your transmission is shredding parts the strainer is a good place to catch the problem before it becomes a $$$$ nightmare. ....
